We have decided it’s time for a change, so from now on, every month, we will be hosting a different guest mix totally free for you to download! This month we kick things of with a banger straight outta Australia, courtesy of Toxemia records very own junglist badman, Ninja Gaijin!  A homage to our last highly successful release ‘Amen-talist Movement Round 2′ - this mix is pure filth!

We’ve been pretty slack in the news department recently, but there’s a few things coming together in Ideation land. Firstly we are very excited about the imminent release of Agent Blu (aka Hoonboy)’s debut album which will be available soon on limited CD. This album translates a decade of life into a perfectly crafted electronic journey and will be a real treat.

We are also pleased to soon (next couple of days!!!) be releasing ‘Amen-talist Movement - Round 2′ the second great installment from Norwich’s legendary junglists.

The second release from our  series which explores the effects a place can have on a scene and its sound is also about to land. This time we visit Scandinavia and bring together a wicked line up artists with both some excellent new talent and some well known faces.

Lastly but certainly not least, we have a man who needs little introduction, founder of Oslo Breakfest, Ars Dada hits us with a brutal slice of derranged vikingcore.

The time has come to take the Ideation rave machine on tour! From September onwards, we will be hitting the road for the Ideation Winter tour - bringing the talents of Koolmorf Widesen, Jonny3snares, Gavin Hislop vs Babyshaker and Microphyst to a club near you!

We’ve been working hard recently to put together a bunch of new releases, which will soon be available! All of them are looking like they are gonna be crackers! In particular we are extremely proud to welcome Agentblu, the ambient alter-ego of Deathsuckers Hoonboy to the Ideation family! His debut album will soon be available as a special C.D release. You wait along time for good music . . . and then two great records come out on the same day! We’ve been looking forward to this release for a long time and it’s finally here! Currently on sabbatical in the U.S.A, the mighty Beatwife has taken time out to re-define Jungle and the result is - 7 tracks of prime dadaist, jungle, acid mayhem! It’s so good it hurts . . .

It’s here! Finally the new Jilk release ‘A Plot to Place Bits’ is available totally free from the site! Five tracks of minimal glitchy idm goodness! What more could you want?

So we made it back in one piece! Needless to say that an amazing time was had by all! We just wanted to say a big thank you to the countless folk who gave us some skins, tobacco or lent us their sound system! There were some wicked guerrilla sets delivered over the weekend, a special shout out goes to Ars Dada who punished us in the early hours of Saturday morning, Microphyst who treated chalet 200 to every song he’s ever written between the hours of 6.30 - 9.30 on Sunday morning and Hoonboy who delivered a banging Sunday lunch set to the good people of number 125 and anyone else lucky enough to wander by!

Yo! Cheers to Shitmat, Microphyst, Jonny3Snares and everyone who came down to Audacious at the Wee Red Bar on the 26th! All the artists delivered blinding sets, which will be available to download  from here soon and the crowd was brilliant, filling the dancefloor all night.

Ideation Records is a new experimental electronic label based in Scotland.

Over the last year we have focused on bringing the truly experimental to Edinburgh, showcasing some of the producers of the best breakcore, gabba, IDM, glitch and dark dnb, from around the world, at our monthly club night Audacious. It is now time to move beyond the dance floor.

With few boundaries other than musical ability, Ideation Records aims to bring together the best of a global scene, seeking out and working with artists from all around the world to bring the listener a truly innovative and experimental sound.

We officially launch the label on the 26th of March along with our first series of releases, including the sexy 12” ‘Yes, No, Maybe’ e.p. from Jonny3snares and our epic CD compilation, ‘Beats for Bassbins and Braincells’ . To celebrate we are hosting a very special night at Edinburgh Art College’s ‘Wee Red Bar’, featuring some of the pick of the Ideation Records catalogue and our very special guest and all round legend, Wrong Music’s Shitmat.

As well as Mr Shitmat, there will be performances from Bedford’s Microphyst and Jonny3Snares, who hails from distant Cornwall, as well as Audacious’ reigning monarch and Edinburgh breakcore luminary ‘King Tom’.
