Jilk
[Jilk website]
‘Jilk’ was a 1950s experiment in cat food products. In a remote corner of Chile a new brand of milk was given to a small sample of neighborhood cats. Thought to help them grow and develop, the formula instead warped their vocal chords, completely destroying their ability to meow. Before being put down in 1957 the cats slowly learned to expel melodic ambient tones whenever they wanted feeding. Ginger cats meow in the key of A.
